Food
for thought
What
the fathers saw, the children will reap.
This
old proverb comes to my mind often since the tragedy in New York has happened.
What terrible crimes have been committed
throughout the Centuries, dominating other countries and their people, Attila
the Hun, plundering and killing in Europe.
The Crusaders, (Christians) fighting against Muslims, forcing their
beliefs onto them.
Hitler moving towards a new age, trying to
introduce cloning and a total hatred for the Jews and ordering their terrible
deaths. - One should have thought that the Jews have had enough fearful
experiences to make them more tolerant towards their neighbours, the
Palestinians. It is again a matter of land ownership. Religion and captured land are mostly the reasons for wars
But lets look further back.... Columbus arriving in the Americas. Who did profit? Europeans of course.
Natives were treated like savages.
The Red-Indians had and still
have a high regard of nature. Its our
life. Nature was ignored by the new
arrivals..
The same happened in Africa. The land was taken by planters and cheap
labour was introduced. Slaves were
shipped in the most torturous way and were sold like cattle to unscrupulous
plantation owners. President Lincoln stands
in high esteem for abolishing this terrible crime.
Wild animals in Asia, Africa, America and
Brazil were killed, for financial gain and amusement, depriving the natives of
their inheritance. Large chunks of
forests have disappeared and are still disappearing.
In Africa, not even as much as one single
water hole was bored for the natives
during the Colonisations. When great
draughts occurred thousands died of starvation. Diseases were brought to them and laws were forced on to them in
these Colonies. During Hitler’s
occupation in Europe, the raided lands were called Protectorates. Massmurders were committed by the Nazis all
over Europe, not only killing Jews, but anyone with any misgivings about the
new order, even Germans. ( Italy suffered a great deal under this occupation
and many innocent people and partisans were shot. An Italian Priest told me
that when he was young, he feigned death after being shot. He prayed to the Holy Mary asking for her
help. The SS thought that he was dead, but
he was saved. Because of his
experiences he became a priest.)
Osama bin Laden, living in Afghanistan,
accumulated enough wealth to be able to terrorise the whole world, but ignored
the plight of the starving Afghanistanies who had been living in war conditions
most of their lives.
Is the attack on America on 11. September
the start of the prophesied doom?
Could
this be the punishment from above and bin Laden is only the instrument?
Sit back quietly and think of these events
I have just described.
In the
meantime, all we can do is being vigilant and protect ourselves.
This
are my thoughts, which come up to my mind from time to time.
